In a survey of students at a major university about residence halls, a key finding was that 50% of the respondents said that residence hall facilities factor heavily into their university or college selection. Residence halls that were highly rated were rated with words like COMMUNITY, HOME, UNIQUE, MODERN, BRIGHT. Halls that were rated low and negatively impacted decisions were rated with words like OUTDATED, CRAMPED, SPARTAN, POORLY DESIGNED.
